Low Carbon Earth Summit-2013
★Welcome Message

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

The view that human activities are likely responsible for most of the observed increase in global mean temperature ("global warming") since the mid 20th century is an accurate reflection of current scientific thinking. Human induced warming of the climate is expected to continue throughout the 21st century and beyond.

Then the Kyoto Protocol was adopted on 11 December 1997 in Kyoto, Japan. Under the Kyoto Protocol, 37 industrialized countries and the European Community commit themselves to limit or reduce their emissions of four greenhouse gases and two groups of gases. All member countries give general commitments. After the lack of progress, there were several further rounds of negotiation COP 16 in Cancun, Mexico in 2010, COP 17 in South Africa in 2011, and COP 18 in Qatar in 2012.

The 3rd Low Carbon Earth Summit-2013 in Xi'an will provide a unique opportunity to discuss the ways of how to reduce their emissions of greenhouse gases and the controversy on low carbon fields. LCES-2013 event will promulgate all practical solutions and policies which needed to cope with the urgent task of Greenhouse gas mitigation in order to bring the climate and biosphere into a natural harmonic balance.

Globally implemented Low Carbon, therefore, are proposed by those having drawn this conclusion as a means to avoid catastrophic climate change and as a precursor to the more advanced, zero-carbon society and renewable energy economy.
